We care about your safety.

Did you know that more children ages 1 to 4 die from drowning than any other cause of death? Let's change this.

Throughout my 15+ years teaching swim lessons, I’ve helped thousands of children both learn to swim and gain vital water safety skills to prevent panic during water emergencies. I not only teach children to swim, but I also instruct parents in the essentials of water safety for children. I work to prevent unnecessary hospital visits and long-term consequences. Water safety starts early (their first bath can be thought of as their first swim lesson) and I strive to help children build confidence and a feeling of comfort in a watery environment.

Drowning can happen in a matter of seconds. Learning to swim could save your child's life.

The purpose of SWIM.LOVE.BABIES is to help infants and toddlers (aged 0-36 months) develop a high comfort and trust level in the water while educating parents about water safety and drowning prevention. Our course teaches children to become confident swimmers and build survival skills by the end of our program’s Level 3. We strive to make the program a fun and loving experience, building confidence and creating a foundation for a lifetime of aquatic learning.

Swimming provides an immersive and multisensory experience, making it a perfect way to engage and stimulate babies' developing senses.

If a child begins lessons early enough (ideally when the umbilical cord has healed) and consistently attends year-round weekly classes, they should be able to achieve our program's goals on graduation from the baby program at age three or older. These goals include: going underwater for 10+ seconds; swimming independently for at least 7 feet; and mastering the three benchmark water life-saving skills – back floats; rollovers from belly-to-back; and rollovers from back-to-belly. These skills must be demonstrated while wearing clothes in the pool's deep end, without any assistance from a coach. Additionally, the child must understand and perform three benchmark water safety skills for each level. These skills include: getting permission from an adult to enter the water; entering the water safely; and controlling a lifejacket while swimming in the deep end.

Swimming is not just a sport or a hobby, it's a life-saving skill that everyone should have.

Comfort and confidence in the water emerge from trust, experience, and loving encouragement. It's crucial for children to become comfortable in the water to cultivate excitement and willingness to learn and participate. Children can begin to feel comfortable in the water as early as one week of age. Infants have a natural diving reflex that allows them to hold their breath, keep their eyes open, remain calm, and swim to the surface or nearest person, when submerged in water. This reflex is present from birth and can be retained for life with continued exposure to water. However, if a child doesn't learn this within the first 1-2 years of life, they will need to be taught. Additionally, human infants have the ability to rotate from a face-down position to back floating, making it one of the first skills taught in baby swim classes. Swimming is a natural and essential skill, and children can learn it from a very young age with proper guidance and instruction.

TESTIMONIALS

"We have been a client of Coach Amber’s for the past 6 years and have been so pleased with the instruction and approach that she takes for swimming lessons. Both of my kids have gone through her swimming program and are now comfortable and safe in the water and also love to swim! There is a perfect balance of teaching children to be comfortable in the water, learning how to swim and breathe properly in the water, and also (and most importantly to me) how to be safe and smart in the water. Amber is kind and caring and does a great job of getting to know her students and making them feel special. We highly recommend Coach Amber!" -Ashley M.
